What’s become of my life? Here I am on K Road meeting up with a friend for a few drinks on a school night 🙂
And I walked all the way up here from work. The beer however is well worth the effort.

There is something wonderful about the bus service I use to get to work on each day. It’s the feeling of good old fashioned SERVICE.
It starts from way before you even get on the bus. If you see your bus coming, but you aren’t at your stop yet, you can still signal it and the driver will stop and let you on.
Then a wonderful thing happens, the driver smiles at you and says: “Good Morning” and clips your ticket. (The whole ticket thing and not a machine still amuses me.)
The driver will then wait for you to sit down before taking off.
All of this I’m sure is what then inspires all the passengers to actually say: “Thank you” to the driver as they get off the bus.
My second day back at work today and it was just too hot. It was too hot when I woke up, it was too hot on the bus and I was too hot to work… I felt sick!
At work we discovered why it seemed so hot… there was 98% humidity.
When I got home I checked the temperature in my lounge and it said 33 degrees. OMG I don’t cope once the temp goes over 28 degrees and usually it’s 29 degrees in the lounge when I get home!!!
A friend came round after work today (yes I’m back at work) and picked me up to go out for dinner. She has the coolest car, I’ve wanted to go for a ride in one of these cars for years.
It was so cool to see my friend again and it was so cool to get to go out for dinner in that car (it is sexy red AND the roof folds back) so we were driving round with the top down… Awesome!
After all the hard work in the garden it’s nice to sit back, relax and enjoy all the lights.
By the way… while I was telling a friend yesterday about the fly, a stupid bug flew into my beer bottle, slid down the spout and landed upside-down in the beer and drowned. My friend said eeuwww tip it out, but I didn’t want to waste it. I decided to wait till I got off the phone and tip the beer into a glass and fish it out.
About an hour later as I was cleaning up I thought hmmm what happened to that beer. That’s when I realized I drank it. So one way or another the powers that be were determined to make me eat bugs. And as you can see… I survived.
Still on holiday… Just mucking around at home, found a new application for my iPhone that creates one panoramic image out of several shots. See below for my first attempt (you can click the image if you would like a better look).
I’m also trying out my new T-stick today, seems to be working really well, just as fast as my wireless connection. So all up, things are not too bad at all, in fact they’re marvellous.
My sister and her entourage came round last night for a couple of drinks and to enjoy the Xmas lights.
Entourage = two daughters and one son in law.
The photo for today is of a maple tree in my courtyard that looked stunningly red in yesterday afternoon’s sun, while I was out there waiting for my sister to arrive.
Spent time today visiting a friend’s Mum (with the friend who I’ve known since high school). Was so lovely to spend time in her garden and remembering the good old days. She also read to us some of her Mum’s old diary (from the 1920s), absolutely fascinating to hear about days before cars, television and electricity. So cool.
