At long last it’s happening.  I’m going to see Celine Dion live in concert in Las Vegas.

One of my best friends in the whole wide world lives in Las Vegas and ever since Celine first performed there my friend Amy has been saying I should come stay with her and go see Celine.  So I have been dreaming of this moment for many many years but it’s not cheap to fly to Las Vegas and go see a show even though I could stay with my friend, I just couldn’t afford it and then Celine ended her FIVE year long stint in Las Vegas and toured the world (except New Zealand) then took a break to have another baby which turned into twins and not having gone to see her when I had the most wonderful opportunity was a huge regret.

Well now she’s back!!!  And this time whether I can afford it or not – I’m going.

My fabulous friend Amy has bought us tickets for the concert on March the 18th and I’m so excited I can hardly sleep.  But seeing Celine in concert again is actually a bonus extra – the real treat will be seeing my friend Amy for the first time in over 21 years.

Today I went to the travel agent and booked my flights, so it’s all on – look out Las Vegas I’m on way.  But wait there’s more!  After I’ve hung out with Amy in Las Vegas, seen Celine in concert, photographed the fantastic Vegas lights and the Grand Canyon, enjoyed the spectacular show of water, music and lights at the Bellagio, shopped in the Venetian Mall, tried my hand at Black Jack and the pokies, spotted some sort of Elvis thing – Amy & I will drive to Los Angeles to stay with a mutual friend who lives there.  After about a week there I will travel up to San Franciso for 2 nights and then head back to New Zealand.

Sometimes dreams do come true!!!
