Going Away. At last I’m having a break, heading out of town for a couple of days up north. Don’t worry kids, Paddington is not going too, he just insisted on helping me pack.
Picked up my friend and we headed out of Auckland around 9:00. We stopped many times on the way up to Kaitaia to take photos and stretch our legs. Kawakawa was the first stop to try out the famous Hundertwasser toilets. Next was at a church in Pakaraka, Waimate North which we found by accident coz we had taken a wrong turning, so I was looking for somewhere safe to turn around.
Next was Mangonui a beautiful little seaside village for an ice cream. Last stop was at Coopers Beach where the colour of the water was amazing. Fantastic weather all the way and the drive was excellent, it felt like we had the road all to ourselves all the way up.
